Therapy Website Design for Women-Focused Private Practice
Project Type: Custom Squarespace Website + Logo + Visual Brand Direction
Industry: Mental Health / Therapy
Audience: Black women seeking identity-centered healing and transformation
Kalima T. Jackson is a licensed therapist whose work centers on identity, emotional healing, and personal transformation for Black women. She came to me knowing the heart of her work, but needing help translating that vision into a website that felt safe, affirming, and inviting—while still being professional and easy to navigate.
Because of her full client workload, we approached this project slowly and intentionally over the course of several months, allowing space for reflection, refinement, and clarity at every stage. The result is a website that feels deeply aligned with her voice and mission, and one that gently guides visitors toward taking the next step.
The Goal
The primary goal of this website was to create a calm, identity-affirming online space where visitors would feel seen, understood, and emotionally safe. Kalima wanted her website to reflect the transformational nature of her therapy work—helping clients reconnect with who they are and who they are becoming.
From a practical standpoint, the site needed to clearly communicate her services, establish trust quickly, and make it easy for potential clients to explore working with her without feeling overwhelmed or rushed.
The Approach
Identity-Centered Brand Direction
Before building the website, we worked through brand direction together—refining her logo, narrowing color palettes, and selecting fonts that felt warm, grounded, and feminine without being overly styled. The visual identity supports her focus on identity and healing, reinforcing a sense of calm and intentionality throughout the site.
Warm, Inviting Website Design
The layout prioritizes white space, soft color transitions, and natural visual flow. Every design choice—from spacing to typography—was made to help visitors slow down and feel at ease, mirroring the experience Kalima creates in her therapy practice.
Collaborative, Flexible Timeline
This project was intentionally built over three months to accommodate Kalima’s schedule. That slower pace allowed her time to rewrite content, reflect on language, and make thoughtful decisions—resulting in a website that truly sounds like her and supports long-term clarity.
Clear Navigation & Gentle Calls to Action
Rather than pushing visitors toward immediate booking, the site uses gentle calls to action that invite exploration. Clear navigation ensures visitors can easily understand her approach, services, and next steps, helping them move forward when they feel ready.
The Outcome
The final website reflects Kalima’s heart for healing and identity work while providing a polished, professional online presence. It serves as a supportive first touchpoint for potential clients—building trust, communicating depth, and positioning her practice as both compassionate and credible.
This project is a strong example of how thoughtful design and intentional pacing can result in a website that feels aligned, authentic, and deeply human.
